











Analysis of the data
According to our research through google forms sent in our community, 49.4% of the responses are of students. Based on the data collected, 20-30% of people use illegal substances to cope with stress. Furthermore, students believe that the use of illegal substances is very common in our community. Additionally, 76.6% of people believe that illegal substances are used by university students. Even Though 54.5% of the people in our community are aware of illegal substances there's no guarantee of change. There are multiple reasons for the abuse of illegal substances but a few main reasons would be availability, stress from competitions or studies, mental health issues, barriers in personal relationships, peer pressure, students finding these things cool, lack of awareness, lack of knowledge and the party culture students believe in. There are other reasons too that have been provided in the data above. Around 33.8% of people believe that self actualization is the most effective way of dealing with the consequences of illegal substance abuse. Self actualization is the process in which a person realizes their potential by pursuing personal growth, creativity and self-fulfillment. Based on the data obtained, a few people believe that legalizing, educating are important to teach people how to use substances in a controlled manner. On the contrary, some people also believe that making laws more strict and banning the use of these substances along with providing a serious sentence to the ones selling it would be extremely beneficial. Furthermore, getting educated about this through spreading awareness is a great method to prevent the use of these substances too. Another solution would be to raise awareness about the consequences and to provide good alternatives to these substances for people to cope with stress, peer pressure or any mental health issues. All in all, the researched collected from our communities' opinions has helped shine light in the causes, consequences and prevention methods.
